Welcome to www.shiptocycle.com. Ship To Cycle is a door-to-door international bike transport service available to all those who love cycling and are looking to rely on expert and safe hands to handle their bikes.

Ship To Cycle is a service powered by SEL – Sports Events & Logistics SA, based in Rue de Plaisance 7, 1920 Martigny, Switzerland, a company operating in the world of sports and events for over 20 years providing logistics, travel and event management solutions to sportspeople, teams and organisers.  

Pack your bike into a bike box, STC will come to collect it and deliver it to your destination accommodation. No hassles trying to fit it in a car, taxi or bus or drag it around an airport. When you’ve finished, pack it up and send it home.

This bike transport service, provided by first class couriers, and our multi-year expertise in the world of Sport & Events Logistics, allows SEL to concentrate on helping athletes and cycle enthusiasts to focus on their race performance, having fun or embarking on an adventure, and not to worry about how to transport their bike. Ship To Cycle was born for this reason.

Ship To Cycle provides you with the means to send your bicycle within Europe and to and from North America. Our objective is to expand our service to be a convenient global service and if you need bike transport outside of the current service area feel free to get in touch with our customer care and we’ll find a solution.

When using our shipping service you will need to agree to our terms and conditions and acknowledge that we and the courier companies will do our best for you, after you’ve done your best to carefully pack your bike (see our bike packing instructions). We also offer Full Protection Insurance to give you extra peace of mind. 

 

 

TRANSIT TIMES

Standard Service within European Union - Days in transit 5-7. Transit times indicated are based on business days and are revised occasionally due to changes in technology, distribution, and volume. The transit times reflect the regular delivery schedule but is not guaranteed.

Express Service within European Union - Days in transit 3-5. Transit times indicated are based on business days and are revised occasionally due to changes in technology, distribution, and volume. The transit times reflect the regular delivery schedule but is not guaranteed.

Standard Service between EU and non-EU or between two non-EU countries - Days in transit 7-11. This indication includes the time normally required for standard customs clearance. The transit times for these countries reflect service for dutiable shipments and may be faster for non-dutiable shipments.

Express Service between EU and non-EU or between two non-EU countries - Days in transit 5-7. This indication includes the time normally required for standard customs clearance. The transit times for these countries reflect service for dutiable shipments and may be faster for non-dutiable shipments.

 

HOW IT WORKS

Booking Procedure

Book our courier service online via computer or mobile at least four weeks before the date your bike needs to arrive at its destination. This allows time if additional documents and/or correspondence are needed in order to satisfy your needs.

 

Delivery address

When purchasing our transport service, you will choose the last date on which your bicycle must be delivered to its destination. Make sure that this date allows for some extra days leeway in case there are unexpected delays due to bad weather, customs processes etc. Our System will calculate the date on which we will pick up your bike in order to respect the date indicated by you. Note that sometimes the courier process is super efficient and your bike may arrive earlier than expected. For this reason, you will need to make sure that someone is available at the destination to sign for the bike up to 5 days before your requested delivery date. You will be advised of the expected delivery date.
If you also choose to use the return service, you will choose the date on which you want the bike to be collected and our system will give you the indicative delivery date.

The order process on the system is automatic and does not require any human intervention by STC, this means that we do not check your order before transmitting the data to the courier. It is therefore essential that, before confirming the order, carefully check all data that you entered (pickup and delivery addresses, personal data, telephone or e-mail references, weight and dimensions of the bike box etc) to avoid any interruption of the service or any additional costs.
You will receive an email with the order confirmation, and your invoice. Other emails will keep you updated and provide any further instructions such as the tracking numbers, package labels, administrative documents and instructions on bike packing.

 

Pick up

The pick up date will be automatically calculated when you enter the bike’s desired arrival date. You will receive confirmation of the pick up date and someone (either you or a representative) will need to be present. The courier’s usual pick up timeframe will be 9am-4pm. Pick ups are made only on weekdays (Monday to Friday).
If no one is present when the courier arrives and the pick up is not successful, contact us immediately. A new pick up will be scheduled for the next working day and a fee payable.

 

Labels

You will receive an email with the labels that need to be attached to the bike box before the courier arrives. Make sure the labels are attached well with transparent tape or in a transparent pouch so that the information is clearly visible.

 

Delivery address

Our service is door-to-door, pickup will be made at the address requested by you when confirming the order and needs to be a physical building as does the destination address (eg. house/hotel, bike shop) not a bike race location.
Either you or a representative (friend, hotel staff etc) will need to be present when the bike is delivered in order to check that the bike box is intact and to sign for the delivery.

 

Package dimensions

You must be accurate in entering the dimensions of your bike box in order to avoid additional costs, delays or refusal at pickup. Packed bike boxes must not exceed the maximum measurement of:
400cm = length + (2 x width) + (2 x height) and weight must not exceed 40kg
If your box exceeds these dimensions, please contact our customer service.
Please contact us if you need to transport a large number of bikes as we have other shipping solutions that could meet your needs.

 

Package preparation

It is your responsibility to prepare your bike in time, using rigid and compliant packaging (e.g. rigid, semi-rigid bike box, double-walled cardboard box with padded contents protected inside) and taking care to follow all the instructions provided in the dedicated section for “How to pack your bicycle”.
Ship to Cycle reserves the right not to reimburse damages caused by inadequate packing.
Shipping management may require a stop at our STC hub warehouse.

 

Package content regulations

For customs purposes and our STC Full Protection Insurance, the bike box must contain ONLY the bike.
In addition, SEL is not responsible for any prohibited items placed with, or in place of, the bike for shipping.
By way of example, but not limited to: Glass, ceramics, vouchers or tickets, cheques, payment cards, jewellery, watches, pornographic material, works of art, spray cans, animal skins, furs, parts of animals, ivory and ivory products, batteries, computers, appliances electronic, dry ice, explosives, food products, dangerous products, paints, glues, adhesives, gas, compressed air, plants, seeds, flowers, soil, clay, tobacco, ink, toner for printers, drugs, doping substances, goods whose transportation is prohibited by law in the country of origin, transit or destination, goods benefiting from excise duties or requiring special equipment, safety precautions or permits, etc. These and other prohibited items, as well as bikes that have not been packaged properly, must not be sent through our services. Otherwise, the bike box could be subject to delays, returns, or seized by customs. This could compromise the performance of the transport service and any delays as well as administrative management, storage, customs clearance costs will be charged to the customer.

 

REFUSALS/RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Refusals/Returns

Book our courier service online via computer or mobile at least four weeks before the date your bike needs to arrive at its destination. This allows time if additional documents and/or correspondence are needed in order to satisfy your needs.

 

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel an order up to 5 working days before the courier arrives at the indicated pick-up location. You will be refunded the amount paid, excluding an administration fee.
After this date, the order cannot be cancelled and will not be refunded, and you may be charged for any courier management costs for the return to the collection address.
By allowing the shipment to be collected, you consent to the provision of services and as a result you will not be able to exercise any legal right of cancellation that you may have.

 

PAYMENT & ADDITIONAL CHARGE

We offer multiple payment options by credit card and App (Visa; Mastercard; Pay Pall; Twint App). The safe payment service is controlled by _SIX Payment Services SA, Hardtumstrasse 201, CH-8021 Zurigo (SIX).
Payment is taken by our automated system at the end of your order once the service has been booked online.
Please note that in addition to the charges which are quoted at the time of your order, surcharges may also be payable after the initial payment, if the following circumstances:

 

Customs clearance fees

If your box is required to undergo a customs check, be aware that you may be required to pay additional customs fees. Processing times vary greatly from country to country and it can take several days. For further details see the “Customs process document”
If prohibited items are found inside the bike box during an inspection, this can cause additional administration costs, customs fines and delays, which will not be considered the responsibility of SEL or of the courier.

 

Delivery address change

The delivery address can be modified. However, it may result in additional administration costs which will be charged to the customer.

 

Failed pickup attempt

A new pick up will be scheduled for the next working day and a fee payable.

 

NOTE

The prices for our service are in euros and we do our best to keep prices updated however prices may be subject to change without notice. Charges may be adjusted from the amounts shown based on a number of factors, including information from our payment processor and/or changes in courier rates. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the services provided (or part of them) without notice at any time. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, price change, suspension or interruption of the service.
